Poland has launched its largest military exercises planned for 2025.

This was reported by RMF24.

On September 1, the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces announced the start of the Iron Defender-25 exercises, which are the most important and extensive for the country this year.

The exercises will take place on land, at sea, and in the air, involving approximately 30,000 troops from Poland and allied nations, as well as around 600 units of military equipment from all branches of the armed forces.

The maneuvers will occur at designated training sites in the Warmian-Masurian, Pomeranian, and Subcarpathian Voivodeships, as well as outside their borders.

The General Staff noted that the exercises will involve "the use of new strike and reconnaissance platforms" and practical applications of lessons learned from the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Due to the exercises, noticeable movements of military equipment on roads across the country are expected in the weeks leading up to and through the end of September. The General Staff has promised to organize movements in a manner that minimizes disruptions for others.

This year's Iron Defender coincides with the Russian-Belarusian exercises "Zapad-2025," which also take place in September.

In Germany, there are no indications of preparations for an attack by the Russian Federation on NATO under the guise of the "Zapad" exercises.

The commander of the Lithuanian army, Raimundas Vaikšnoras, stated that with the approach of the joint Russian-Belarusian exercises "Zapad-2025," around 40,000 troops will be concentrated in the Baltic States and Poland.

Lithuania has implemented restrictions on the use of part of its airspace ahead of the "Zapad-2025" exercises.
