Late last night, firefighters in Korosten, Zhytomyr region, successfully extinguished a fire at an unused metal warehouse belonging to a local company. The flames engulfed the wooden framework of the roof and walls, sandwich panels, and various items inside. The area affected by the fire was approximately 500 square meters. There was a risk of the flames spreading to an adjacent warehouse. The firefighting efforts were complicated by heavy smoke and high temperatures. Additionally, the work of the rescuers on the roof, which was nearly 10 meters high, posed significant danger. Additional forces and equipment were called in to assist with the firefighting.
The operation lasted three and a half hours. The fire damaged the roof and walls over an area of 500 square meters, an electric forklift, and household appliances. Firefighters managed to save the nearby warehouse. A total of 22 rescuers and six units of equipment were involved at the scene.
The circumstances are currently under investigation.
