Ukraine has successfully tested the innovative Starlink Direct to Cell technology, which allows for direct satellite communication without antennas or additional equipment, relying solely on 4G and SIM cards.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko via her Telegram channel.
"Ukraine has become one of the first countries in the world to implement Starlink Direct to Cell technology — communication without antennas, only requiring 4G and a SIM card. The testing was conducted by First Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and CEO of Kyivstar Oleksandr Komarov. By the fall of 2025, Kyivstar plans to launch the first phase — enabling SMS sending from controlled areas of Ukraine. During wartime, when the enemy deliberately targets energy and communication infrastructure, and some communities risk isolation, this technology is not just a matter of comfort but of security," she stated.
