Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, conducted an inspection of the positions of the “Timur Special Forces” on Snake Island and gas extraction platforms in the Black Sea.

The leader of military intelligence assessed the forces involved in the defense of the water area, including the so-called “platforms,” which have been returned under Ukraine's lawful control due to successful operations by the GUR and other security forces.

During his visit to the Black Sea region, Kyrylo Budanov held a meeting with officers regarding future actions within the overall strategy and awarded GUR fighters from the “Timur Special Forces” for their professionalism and bravery in defending our state during the war with Russia.

Together, they honored the memory of the soldiers who fell during the liberation of Snake Island and Ukrainian territorial waters of the Black Sea from Russian occupiers.

“Honor to the fighters of the GUR and all security forces of Ukraine! Our active struggle against the aggressor at sea, on land, and in the sky has proven to the world that a united Ukrainian nation can defeat even a stronger enemy. No matter what anyone says, our future depends solely on ourselves. The fight continues,” said Kyrylo Budanov.
