Ukraine anticipates receiving around 1.8 million artillery shells by the end of this year through a new Czech initiative.

This was announced by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during a joint press conference with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky in Kyiv.

«The Czech Republic is making significant contributions to our joint security and defense. Through the Czech shell initiative launched in 2024, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are expected to receive about 1.8 million artillery shells by the end of this year», Sybiha stated.

He emphasized that this is not merely assistance, but a crucial contribution to Ukraine's defense.

«The supply of ammunition purchased with frozen Russian assets is a testament to the decisive and bold actions of the Czech Republic. Thank you. We welcome the continuation of the shell initiative», the Ukrainian diplomat added.
