The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyrydenko, announced the initiation of three joint projects with the USA in the field of mineral extraction. These projects are set to commence within the next 18 months under a bilateral agreement.
This information was shared by Svyrydenko on Facebook following discussions with US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.
According to the Prime Minister, the parties discussed the establishment of a Ukrainian-American investment fund for reconstruction, with the first board meeting scheduled for September.
Direct quote: "We are working on expanding the fund's mandate to allow investments in the defense sector. Our goal is to launch the first three projects within 18 months".
Additionally, the negotiations focused on defense cooperation. This included discussions initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding a potential agreement for the production and export of Ukrainian drones, as well as the possible procurement of American weapons.
"We also raised issues regarding the strengthening of sanctions and cooperation with international financial institutions", – Svyrydenko added.
