A traffic accident with a casualty occurred on Khreshchatyk Street. The incident took place around 7:00 AM today.

The driver of a Volkswagen, while traveling down Khreshchatyk towards Bessarabskaya Square, lost control of the vehicle. He veered onto the pedestrian section of the road and collided with a concrete barrier of the underground passage. The 43-year-old driver was hospitalized with an open fracture of the leg. Preliminary reports indicate he was sober.

An investigative team is currently working at the scene to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
