Ukraine has made its initial import of gas from Azerbaijan through the Trans-Balkan corridor.
This was announced by Serhiy Koretsky, the head of Naftogaz.
The agreement with SOCAR Energy Ukraine facilitated the first shipments via Bulgaria and Romania to the Ukrainian border.
While the volume is currently small, this step represents a significant strategic achievement for the nation.
Koretsky stated, "This is a strategically important move that paves the way for long-term cooperation. It also exemplifies the diversification of supply sources and strengthens Ukraine's energy security."
He concluded by thanking his colleagues from Azerbaijan for their trust.
