As of the morning of July 23, there has been a decrease in electricity consumption, while severe weather has caused outages in 122 localities across seven regions.
This was reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on social media.
"Due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, strong winds), 122 localities were fully or partially disconnected from electricity this morning. Teams from the regional energy companies are already conducting emergency recovery work on damaged lines," the statement reads.
Additionally, following a nighttime drone attack on critical infrastructure, there are disruptions in electricity supply in one of the frontline regions. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible. The situation is complicated by periodic air alerts, during which work at damaged sites must be temporarily halted.
This morning at 9:30, electricity consumption was 4.9% lower than at the same time the previous day – Tuesday. The reason for this change is a drop in heat in some regions, as well as sunny weather in most areas (except for parts of the north), leading to high efficiency of household solar power plants.
Yesterday, July 22, the daily peak electricity consumption was recorded during the day, which was 2.8% higher than the peak of the previous day – Monday. This is explained by the hot weather across Ukraine.
The energy company notes that the Ukrainian energy system continues to recover from the massive missile and drone attacks by Russia. Emergency recovery work at energy facilities is ongoing.
