The Ukrainian firm Odd Systems has announced a strategic partnership with the Danish defense giant Terma Group to collaboratively develop affordable drone interceptors based on artificial intelligence.

The company’s press release highlights that the primary challenge of drone interceptors lies in the combination of detecting, tracking, and neutralizing hostile UAVs with another autonomous system.

The types of Russian drones to counter range from FPV and tactical copters like the Mavic to fixed-wing operational UAVs like the Zala and long-range strike drones such as the Shahed.

“Terma and Odd Systems will combine their respective technologies while developing a comprehensive suite of products to counter these and other aerial threats,” stated Odd Systems.

Odd Systems is a defense technology company headquartered in Kyiv, specializing in the development and production of thermal imaging cameras and FPV drones.

The company supplies the FPV aerial interceptor platform Horskaya-12, along with strike FPV platforms “Stus-7” and “Lupinis-10”. It has also developed and manufactures thermal imaging cameras for FPV drones Kurbas-256 and Kurbas-640 in Ukraine.

Terma A/S is the largest Danish manufacturer of defense and aerospace products for both civilian and military applications. The company offers radar systems, avionics, and space electronics, and is also a supplier of components for the F-35.

Recently, the Director of the Defense Procurement Agency, Arsen Zhumadilov, announced that the agency has contracted for tens of thousands of drone interceptors.
