A tragic event unfolded in Kyiv on Velyka Vasylkivska Street, where a woman lost her life after being struck by Andrii Molochnyi, an employee of the prosecution service.
This was reported by Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Kravchenko stated that the driver was intoxicated, veered onto the sidewalk, hit the woman, and attempted to flee the scene.
Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries in the hospital the following day.
Molochnyi has been charged with violating traffic rules while intoxicated, resulting in death.
Test results showed a blood alcohol concentration of 1.77 per mille, the Prosecutor General added.
Kravchenko remarked: "We will insist on the imposition of a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days without bail being set.
I am personally monitoring the progress of this case and will support the prosecution in court."
