In Kharkiv, a powerful storm caused serious damage to the Vivat publishing house's warehouse, with part of the roof ripped off by strong winds.

This resulted in flooding, and the extent of the damages is currently being assessed.

This was reported by Yulia Orlova, co-owner and CEO of the publishing house.

"Many books were flooded, and we will only be able to estimate the real extent of the damage after the inventory is completed. We still need to remove books from the top shelves, check the lower ones, and dry everything we can save," Orlova shared.

The CEO also added that due to the warehouse damage, some shipments of online orders and new releases to partners will be delayed.

"Please be understanding if your package arrives later than usual. We need extra time. Vivat employees are available and will provide information promptly."

"And a special thank you to you, our readers. In a time when reality tests our strength daily, you still choose Ukrainian books – supporting authors, publishers, and bookstores. This inspires us not to give up even under a ripped roof (in every sense of the phrase)," the Vivat representative wrote.

It should be noted that on July 12, a 56-year-old woman died in the Kharkiv region due to severe weather when a tree fell on her. Additionally, a seven-year-old girl was injured under similar circumstances in the regional center.

Also, in Kharkiv, the roof of a private house collapsed due to the hurricane, injuring three people.

Heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds knocked down power poles and trees. A total of 171 employees of the State Emergency Service and 38 units of equipment were involved in the cleanup operation.

Due to power outages and strong winds, several trains of "Ukrzaliznytsia" were delayed.
