In the Kherson region, farmers have harvested their first 500 tons of watermelons. Additionally, there has been a significant collection of grains and legumes, as well as rapeseed and vegetables. To date, over 46,000 tons of grain and nearly 5,000 tons of rapeseed have been collected.

This information was shared by the Kherson Regional Military Administration via their Telegram channel, according to Ukrinform.

«Currently, the harvest collection is actively ongoing in the region: more than 46,000 tons of grains and legumes have been collected, about 5,000 tons of rapeseed, and the first 500 tons of watermelons», the message states.

It is also noted that farmers in the Kherson region have sown approximately 220,000 hectares of land for the 2025 harvest. However, due to frost and drought in spring, over 50,000 hectares of crops were damaged or lost. Preliminary estimates of losses exceed 1 billion hryvnias.

«So far, 300 farms have applied for damage assessment. Special commissions have been set up to evaluate the situation. We have also reached out to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and international partners regarding the urgent need for measures to support our farmers», said Dmitry Butriy, the first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
