Severe weather conditions in the Transcarpathian region, as well as in neighboring Slovakia and Hungary, have led to significant changes in the schedule of international and domestic passenger trains. Some services are delayed, and passengers from abroad are being transported to Ukraine using alternative buses.
This was reported by Ukrainian Railways.
The company stated that due to adverse weather, railway companies in Hungary and Slovakia are forced to delay certain routes:
- Train No. 143/750 from Vienna and Budapest;
- Train No. 617/964 from Bratislava.
Passengers from Debrecen (Hungary) and Košice (Slovakia) will be brought to the border on alternative buses. They will then be picked up by Ukrainian Railways train No. 28 in Chop. The delay time and further departures will be determined after the arrival of the buses and in coordination with dispatchers from the three countries. The company warns that further changes may occur depending on the situation, primarily in Hungary.
Additionally, the severe weather has damaged the contact network near Barkasovo and Skole. As a result, delays are expected for the following trains:
- Train No. 9 Kyiv – Budapest;
- Train No. 82 Chop – Kyiv;
- Train No. 14 Solotvyno – Kyiv;
- Train No. 38 Mukachevo – Odesa;
- Train No. 749 Kyiv – Chop (with direct cars to Vienna).
"We traditionally collect all schedule deviations on the uz-vezemo portal. We apologize for any inconvenience and assure you that we will safely transport everyone," – emphasizes the company's press service.
