The European Union, together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), will initiate a new phase of support for the Ukrainian project «eQueue», aimed at improving border crossing conditions.
This information was announced by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
The EU will expand the eQueue system for passenger vehicles and integrate it with state registries.
According to the agreement, the EU, through IOM, plans to finance the technical support of the project and involve specialists for further enhancements and scaling.
As noted by Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach, this support will facilitate the implementation of a plan to improve the system for a more seamless border crossing experience.
Among the planned measures is the integration of «eQueue» with other state registries and the establishment of priority passage for certain categories of transport.
Improvements are expected to affect not only services for trucks and buses but also the pilot project extending to passenger cars.
One of the key priorities is the installation of automatic fixation cameras at border checkpoints.
eQueue for drivers: how to register and cross the border without physical queues
«eQueue» is a digital tool that enables carriers to register in an electronic queue and track its status online, instead of waiting in a physical line at the border.
Currently, the system is mandatory for all trucks and buses leaving Ukraine, and since its launch, it has been used for over 2 million border crossings.
