On June 9, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochitsky, met with former Belgian federal deputy Georges Dhalman and former French-speaking Belgian diplomat Zenon Kowal.
The Minister expressed gratitude to Belgian partners for their ongoing support and emphasized the significance of preserving historical memory as a foundation for sustainable European partnerships.
The parties discussed a wide range of topics concerning the enhancement of Ukrainian-Belgian relations in the fields of culture and strategic communications. This included collaboration between the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II and the Royal Army Museum located in Brussels, the completion of the Holodomor-Genocide National Museum in Kyiv, continuation of joint exhibition initiatives, particularly regarding the war, as well as the implementation of sanctions against Russians.
Moreover, a number of bilateral cultural initiatives were addressed, especially in the context of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Belgium.
