The “Kyiv Digital” app has launched a new service that makes sorting household waste and reusing items much easier.
The sorting map allows users to quickly locate containers for specific types of waste and provides detailed sorting instructions. It includes information on which plastics are accepted (PET-1, HDPE-2, PP-5, Tetra Paks), how to prepare glass, and where to dispose of hazardous waste (batteries, thermometers, medications).
To find the nearest container, simply open the Maps in the app and select the “Waste Sorting” section. The map also highlights the locations of “Good Baskets”, where residents can donate clean used clothing and other household items.
According to a survey conducted through the app, nearly 55% of residents are already sorting their waste.
Requests for container installation can be submitted via the “Kyiv Digital” app or on the website of KP “Kyivkomunservis”, by attaching a photo of the suggested location.
