On December 1st, we observe World AIDS Day, a day aimed at increasing global awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrating international solidarity. In Kyiv, a memorial event titled ‘Thank You for Life’ took place at the ‘Red Ribbon’ memorial.
Laying flowers was a gesture of respect, unity, and dedication to a common cause. Participants honored those who have passed away and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to partners who work tirelessly to support lives.
“The goal of this event is to showcase the solidarity of the state and the donor community with people living with HIV in Ukraine, as well as to encourage the public to get tested and know their HIV status. We extend public gratitude to everyone who contributes daily to the fight against the HIV epidemic in Ukraine and around the world,” said representatives from the charity organization ‘100% Life’.
The event also saw participation from UN representatives, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Public Health Center, the Kyiv City Administration, and partner organizations working in the field of HIV services.
Organizers emphasized that the fight against AIDS continues, and every day brings us closer to a society free of stigma, fear, and loss. It is crucial to support, protect, inform, and save those in need of help.
