The special operation of the Security Service dubbed ‘Web’, which resulted in the destruction of 41 Russian strategic aviation aircraft, has been awarded by the President with the title ‘National Legend of Ukraine’. The collective of the Service, along with other laureates of this year’s award, was recognized. The operation was led by the Head of the Security Service, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that ‘Web’ is evidence of the achievements of Ukrainian special services and our state.

He thanked everyone who stands up for Ukraine's interests.

“It is crucial to maintain focus on our state to ensure that our support does not diminish, both politically and especially for our warriors. We are grateful to them for defending Ukraine,” stated President Volodymyr Zelensky during the ceremony.

“This award is a great honor for me and the entire Service! It will motivate us for further accomplishments. I want to thank the entire personnel, our covert apparatus, and also the President of Ukraine, with whom we have walked this path together. To our enemies, I want to say that we possess unique operational and combat experience. We have hundreds of unique operational plans, and we will stop only when the occupiers cease their aggression, and Ukraine achieves a just peace,” emphasized Head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk.

Let us recall that the SBU operation ‘Web’ took place on June 1, 2025. As a result, special FPV drones destroyed 34% of all Russian strategic aviation used for strikes against Ukraine. The total losses for Russia amounted to over $7 billion.
