The suspension of funding programs by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is expected to have significant negative effects on Ukraine's agricultural sector. The government is actively seeking solutions to address this issue and attract alternative funding sources.

This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval at the Grain Storage Forum in Kyiv on Friday, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

“Certainly, the suspension of USAID project funding will adversely affect the operations of Ukraine's agricultural sector. Many producers were relying on the delivery of equipment that had already been financed,” he said.

The minister noted that relying on funding from a single source in wartime conditions is too risky for Ukraine.

As a result, the government is exploring options to replace American funds with European financing for ongoing projects.

President of the Ukrainian Grain Association Mykola Gorbachov added that, according to his information, the suspension of financial support could lead to the dismissal of 160 highly qualified specialists in the Ukrainian representation of USAID.
