As of February 1, 2025, the prices for rail tickets to Poland and Hungary will increase due to a decrease in discounts.
This was announced by "Ukrzaliznytsia".
Prices for trains to Austria and Moldova will remain unchanged.
The reason for the price hike is significant losses from passenger transportation (18 billion UAH last year) due to the rising costs of materials and energy resources.
Previously, to promote its international routes, Ukrzaliznytsia agreed on special discounts with the railways of neighboring countries. Now the company is forced to gradually revise these discounts.
Ticket prices to Poland will increase by 9-27% in sleeper cars and by 20-27% in Intercity+ and SV.
On the most popular route Kyiv-Warsaw, the increase will be 37%, while on the Kyiv-Budapest route it will be 17% in SV and 21% in sleeper cars.
Tickets for February can still be purchased at the old prices until January 31, 2025.
Reminder:
"Ukrzaliznytsia" is launching a full meal service on selected trains in a trial mode.
