Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of Medical Workers Day, met with military and civilian medics at a medical center and awarded them state honors.

This information was reported on the President's official website.

«I want to congratulate all our doctors, nurses, and everyone who has dedicated their life to the vital mission of healing and saving lives. You are treating and saving our Ukrainians, helping with rehabilitation, especially our soldiers today,» the President emphasized.

He noted that even in the most dangerous conditions near the front lines, our people receive medical assistance.

The head of state stressed the extremely important work of all those developing the rehabilitation system in Ukraine for recovery after injuries.

«Here, there are state institutions, many communal facilities, and numerous private initiatives within our society. There are teams providing professional, evidence-based, and systematic rehabilitation,» the President highlighted.

He thanked Ukrainian medics for their work and urged everyone to remember the doctors, nurses, and combat medics who lost their lives due to Russian strikes. The attendees honored their memory with a moment of silence.

The head of state awarded military and civilian medics with orders and medals, and bestowed the honorary titles of «Honored Doctor of Ukraine» and «Honored Worker of Health Care of Ukraine».

The awards were given to combat medics who evacuate injured soldiers from the battlefield and provide first aid, as well as civilian healthcare workers who have been helping the affected since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion and continue to work in frontline regions.

Zelensky listened to a report on the activities of the medical unit that provides assistance to wounded soldiers. The facility offers a full cycle of treatment and rehabilitation, including medical and psychological support.

The President checked the operation of the day hospital, patient rooms, operating block, and rooms for endoscopic, radiological, fluorographic, and ultrasound diagnostics.

Moreover, representatives of the medical center showcased specialized vehicles used for evacuation and assistance in combat conditions, including emergency medical service vehicles and the armored vehicle «Novator-2S» designed for medical evacuation from the battlefield, as well as a mobile surgical complex that allows for stabilization interventions directly in combat zones.
