Maxim Ustimenko, an F-16 pilot who became a symbol of bravery, died protecting Ukraine.

In early July, a farewell ceremony was held in Kyiv at the St. Michael's Cathedral for the fallen hero.

A graduate of the Kharkiv National Air Force University, he was one of the best pilots of his generation.

Since the onset of the war, Maxim participated in defending the country, becoming part of a legendary unit.

Air Force specialists noted his skill in operating various types of aircraft, including the MiG-29 and F-16.

Sadly, during one of the aerial battles, Maxim sacrificed his life while destroying several enemy targets.

Posthumously, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. He is survived by his parents, wife, and young son.
