The organization “Ukrainians in Greece” showcased Ukraine at the cultural festival “Refugee Week Greece”, held just before World Refugee Day, celebrated on June 20.
“We celebrated this significant day with warmth and support”, — stated representatives of the organization.
As part of Refugee Week Greece, an inclusive culinary gathering took place at the cozy Myrtillo café in Athens, uniting various cultures.
Greek chef Isidora Antoniou, alongside Ukrainian Galyna Martynenko, treated guests to traditional dishes from their homelands. This event symbolized unity, solidarity, and openness.
“Galyna offered her famous meat and potato pies, which, according to her, convey love to everyone who tastes them. She also prepared a traditional dessert surprise, which turned out to be a true revelation for many guests”, — the publication states.
The baked goods from Isidora and Galyna's pies created a warm atmosphere of a family table, “where the language of taste transcends all borders”.
“This was an event about solidarity, taste, openness, and acceptance. Together — we are strong!”, — emphasized “Ukrainians in Greece”.
Earlier, the Foundation of the Ukrainian Community in Malta announced its participation in Refugee Week Malta.
Aside from the traditional presentation of Ukrainian culture, a key aspect was the informational campaign highlighting the need to support the return of abducted Ukrainian children and prisoners.
