For the past six months, the Veteran Support Center has been operating at the Kyiv College of Applied Sciences, serving as a crucial platform for the reintegration of Ukraine's defenders.

The event commemorating the center's six-month anniversary featured the Commissioner of the Kyiv City Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Lesia Petrivska, and the Commissioner for Veterans' Rights, Stanislav Ryzhenkov.

Lesia Petrivska stated: «This center is very human-oriented. Here, no one asks who you were before the war; they just support and help you explore new opportunities. It is essential to have a place where you are not pitied but believed in. I want veterans to feel comfortable and confident here, like everyone else.»

The event also showcased the photo exhibition «Brave Faces,» initiated by the project «Doctors for Heroes,» featuring portraits of heroes who have suffered facial and head injuries.

Stanislav Ryzhenkov added: «Returning from war is challenging. Finding yourself afterward is even more difficult. That’s why places like the Veteran Development Center are so important. New stories are born here: just yesterday, a veteran who received support presented his first line of perfumes. It’s about finding new footing.»
