On May 2nd in Vienna, at the Aula der Wissenschaften exhibition space, the renowned Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk opened his exhibition titled "Tell Me the Truth." The exhibition will last until May 12.
Across two floors of this exhibition space in the heart of the Austrian capital, 15 cycles of paintings created from 1965 to April 2025 are showcased. This exhibition also includes new works from the series "Viennese Rhapsody."
Among the numerous art enthusiasts, local officials, and members of the Ukrainian and Austrian communities, including the Ukrainian ambassador to Austria, was the commander of the special forces company, Dmytro Shcherbatiuk. He presented Ivan Marchuk with a gift - a Ukrainian flag signed by his comrades.
Marchuk himself described the exhibition as the most grand event of his life:
"I walked through the entire exhibition and, honestly, I feel tired. Before each painting, I thought: 'Did I really create all of this?'" he shared.
The uniqueness of the exhibition is enhanced by the visual design of the installation. Special projectors create moving images on the walls of the hall, transitioning one into another according to the chronology of the artist's creative cycles.
This combination of classical painting and digital technology creates an immersive experience in Marchuk's world.
