Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, have signed a contract aimed at supporting Ukraine's energy sector.
As reported by "European Truth," Shmyhal shared this news on Facebook.
The agreement involves attracting 270 million euros under state guarantees, accompanied by a 140 million euro grant from the Norwegian government.
"This will enable Naftogaz of Ukraine to import significant volumes of natural gas to prepare for the upcoming heating season," explained Shmyhal.
He noted that since the onset of the full-scale war with Russia, the EBRD has allocated over 6 billion euros to Ukraine in the form of loans, grants, and guarantees.
It was previously reported that in 2025, the EBRD plans to invest at least 1.5 billion euros to support Ukraine's economy during wartime.
Specifically, 1 billion euros is intended for the support of Ukraine's energy sector.
