Since the beginning of the year, local communities have purchased 110 new school buses produced in Ukraine via the Prozorro Market platform. Some of these vehicles were acquired to replace those destroyed due to the war.

This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

The buses are manufactured in various cities across Ukraine, including Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Lutsk, and Zaporizhzhia, involving over 200 Ukrainian companies in the production process.

According to data from the Ministry of Economy, the leader in purchases this year is the Ivano-Frankivsk region, which has acquired 40 buses. The region has already utilized over 85% of the subsidy allocated by the government for 2025.

New buses will also be delivered to:

  • Lviv region — 30 buses;
  • Mykolaiv region — 12 buses;
  • Volyn region — 12 buses;
  • Khmelnytskyi region — 10 buses;
  • Kirovohrad region — 5 buses;
  • Cherkasy region — 1 bus.

Under the program, the state will cover 70 to 95% of the cost of the buses, while local budgets will compensate for the remaining expenses. This year, around 600 buses are planned to be purchased.

The ministry noted that the program has been implemented for the third consecutive year. During this time, communities have purchased over 1000 school buses worth more than 3 billion UAH through Prozorro Market.

As a reminder:

  • At the end of January, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 1.6 billion UAH for the purchase of 460 school buses. Thanks to this subsidy, communities will be able to acquire new vehicles or replace those destroyed due to the war.
