On April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate a subsidy of 830 million UAH for the establishment of shelters in general educational institutions.
This was reported by Taras Melnychuk, the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, via his Telegram channel.
"These funds will be used to continue the work on the establishment of shelters and ensuring safe conditions in educational institutions. Fifteen communities will receive funding, along with the regional budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions," wrote Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his Telegram channel.
He noted that over the past two years, the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for shelters in schools.

In 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for improving shelters, enhancing fire safety in schools, preparing them for winter, and creating educational centers for the subject "Protection of Ukraine".
