The actions of the suspects are classified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism committed by a group of persons and infliction of moderate bodily harm. According to the law, the suspects face up to four years of imprisonment.
Recently, the emergency line '102' received a report from an ambulance crew about an attack on a man in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. An investigative group was dispatched to the scene.
Law enforcement established that the victim is a 38-year-old former serviceman, a veteran who was discharged due to injury.
At the time he was walking down the street with a friend, a group of intoxicated young men approached them and provoked a conflict. Subsequently, the assailants knocked the man to the ground and inflicted multiple blows with their hands and feet to the victim's head and body, after which they fled.
The police of the Holosiivskyi district, in collaboration with crime analysts, promptly apprehended three local residents aged 18, 19, and 28.
Under the guidance of the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office, they were charged under part 1 of article 28, part 1 of article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (infliction of moderate bodily harm) and part 2 of article 296 (hooliganism committed by a group of persons). The victim is currently hospitalized, and the investigation is ongoing.
