A man has been charged with hooliganism and causing serious bodily harm. He faces up to eight years in prison.
Emergency services reported an incident to the 102 hotline, stating that a man had been injured near an entertainment venue in Holosiivskyi district. A police investigative team arrived at the scene, established the circumstances, and detained the assailant.
Authorities found that a 21-year-old foreigner, while on the club's terrace, started bothering an unfamiliar girl. A 20-year-old local man, who was with her, intervened and tried to stop the inappropriate behavior.
In response, the suspect instigated a fight, retrieved a knife, and inflicted three stab wounds to the victim's chest and arm. The victim was hospitalized.
Police detained the assailant under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and notified him of charges for hooliganism and intentional serious bodily harm. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
The suspect faces up to eight years of imprisonment.
