Kiev police, in collaboration with the migration police and foreign law enforcement agencies, arrested a Polish citizen who sexually exploited children in Ukraine via social media by distributing pornographic content.
The investigation began after receiving reports about an anonymous Telegram account that was sending child pornography to minors in Kyiv. Authorities discovered that the perpetrator had been manipulating children since 2021, coercing them into producing pornography through online platforms.
Police identified 8 victims and conducted necessary investigative actions in compliance with international child justice standards. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the offender, a 57-year-old male from Poland, used anonymous accounts in messengers to contact underage girls, encouraging them to create pornographic content.
The criminal proceedings were investigated under the supervision of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office. Once the perpetrator was identified, police initiated international cooperation with law enforcement in Poland, the UK, and Europol. The Office of the Prosecutor General promptly submitted a request for international legal assistance.
Based on the acquired materials, an order was obtained for a search in Poland, where the suspect was detained on October 8. During the search, computer equipment and materials indicating sexual exploitation of children were seized.
On October 10, a Polish court ordered the suspect to be held for three months, facing up to 15 years in prison.
The National Police urges parents to be vigilant about their children's online contacts and to have discussions about the dangers of communicating with strangers.
If you encounter cases of sexual exploitation or violence against children, immediately contact the police.
