Three young criminals, using a fictitious name, met with a victim and then attacked him in his own apartment, stealing property worth over 200,000 hryvnias. For their actions, they face up to 15 years in prison.
Recently, the Holosiivskyi Police Department received a report from a 28-year-old Kyiv resident who had been the victim of a robbery by three unknown assailants.
Law enforcement officials established that one of the perpetrators created a fake profile on a popular messenger to arrange a meeting with the victim. Subsequently, he and his accomplices broke into the apartment, knocked the owner to the floor, bound his hands, and beat him, demanding access to online banking.
After obtaining the login and password, the criminals increased the credit limit on the victim's card and transferred over 180,000 hryvnias to their accounts. Additionally, they stole a gold chain, property documents, and other valuables.
Detectives from the criminal investigation unit, along with analysts, quickly identified the attackers – three local residents aged 17, 18, and 21. During the arrest, the youngest of them had the victim's bank cards in his possession.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office, charged the suspects under Part 4 of Article 187 (robbery committed by a group of individuals in collusion with breaking into a dwelling) and Part 1 of Article 357 (appropriation of an official document for selfish motives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For these crimes, they face up to 15 years of imprisonment with property confiscation.
