In Kyiv, Ukraine, an investigation has been initiated concerning the misappropriation of nearly one million hryvnias of state funds during the capital repairs of a shelter in the Holosiivskyi District administration building. The head of the construction department has been charged with providing false information in official documents and misappropriating budget funds (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It was established that the suspect ensured that a controlled company won the tender for the repair work on the parking lot used as a shelter.
Upon completion of the work, the contractor submitted inflated volumes of completed work, which were approved by the head of the department, allowing the company to receive full payment.
These actions caused losses to the city budget amounting to nearly 1 million hryvnias.
The investigation is ongoing, and the involvement of other officials from the Holosiivskyi District administration in the embezzlement is being verified.
