The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered and arrested another enemy agent operating in the Kharkiv region. According to available information, she was spying on the positions of Ukrainian forces in the strategically significant Izyum direction.
It is known that the Russian military intended to use the information collected by this individual to prepare attacks and breach the frontline.
The investigation revealed that a 23-year-old local unemployed woman had come under enemy influence during the temporary occupation of her community at the start of the full-scale war.
In May of this year, Russian special services reestablished contact with her, offering "easy earnings" in exchange for gathering information about the locations of Ukrainian troops near the front line.
She traversed the area, attempting to discreetly document objects where she believed Ukrainian military units were stationed.
As a form of "cover," she used the pretense of visiting relatives residing in a conflict zone.
The SBU officers apprehended the agent and seized her smartphone, which contained screenshots of Google Maps marking potential "targets" for Russian attacks.
The SBU investigators informed her of the suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is currently in custody without the right to bail. She faces life imprisonment with property confiscation. The operation was carried out by the SBU in the Kharkiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
