Arrest of a Drug Dealer in Kyiv

A 45-year-old man was arrested in Kyiv on suspicion of selling psychotropic substances.

A 45-year-old man was apprehended in Kyiv while attempting to sell psychotropic substances, riding an electric scooter. He faces up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
During a patrol on Georgiy Gongadze Avenue, police noticed a suspicious individual carrying packages of drugs in a backpack. An investigative team was summoned to document the incident.
It turned out that the suspect had prior criminal charges related to drug offenses. Authorities found cannabis and amphetamines in his possession, along with packaging materials and approximately 300,000 hryvnias in cash at his apartment.
The man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigation, supervised by the Podil District Prosecutor's Office, has charged him under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for the illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation of psychotropic substances for sale in particularly large quantities. Currently, a decision is being made regarding the imposition of preventive measures in the form of custody.
