The Security Service of Ukraine has arrested another FSB agent in Kherson. The individual in question is a 26-year-old nurse from the city hospital. He was involved in guiding Russian airstrikes on the regional center and surrounding areas.
Key targets for the aggressors included backup command posts, supply depots, air defense positions, and Ukrainian military checkpoints.
The occupiers aimed to obtain coordinates of defensive lines to launch combined drone and heavy bomb attacks.
According to the investigation, the suspect gathered intelligence during his commutes to and from work.
As a passenger on a minibus, he filmed the locations of Ukrainian defenders with his phone.
Later, at his workplace in the medical facility, he marked military object coordinates on Google Maps and reported them to the FSB via messenger.
The SBU uncovered the agent, documented his activities, and took comprehensive measures to secure the positions of defense forces.
In the final phase of the operation, the Security Service apprehended the suspect.
The investigation revealed that the medic had been recruited by the occupiers through an old neighbor who fled to Russia after Kherson's liberation and collaborated with the FSB.
During searches, a smartphone containing evidence of his espionage activities was seized.
Currently, SBU investigators have notified him of suspicion under part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, relocation, or positioning of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
The perpetrator is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by SBU officers in the Kherson region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
