It has been discovered that a construction company in the capital, which is building a residential complex near the Dnieper's protective coastline, has unlawfully expanded its operations beyond the construction site. The company illegally cut down trees, removed the topsoil, and replaced it with sand.
Kyiv's Dnipro police have registered this incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under part 4 of article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – unauthorized occupation of land and unauthorized construction, as well as part 1 of article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal logging.
Currently, investigations are underway to determine all circumstances of the illegal construction. The maximum penalty may reach up to three years of imprisonment.
