The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another agent of the Russian special services in Khmelnytskyi. This individual was orchestrating missile strikes against military facilities in the western part of Ukraine.
According to the case materials, the executor of the enemy's tasks turned out to be a 31-year-old unemployed man who caught the attention of the aggressor through Telegram channels advertising «quick earnings».
He was recruited there by FSB agents who assigned him various tasks:

  •  one supervisor demanded the geolocations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' airfields;
  •  another Russian agent awaited coordinates of power substations that were to be destroyed to cut off electricity in the region.

Additionally, the agent collected coordinates of municipal institutions and National Police units, and tried to identify private vehicles of law enforcement for potential future sabotage.
SBU officers caught him «red-handed» as he filmed a local power substation.
At the scene, his smartphone was seized, containing evidence of his correspondence with the occupiers, as well as photos and videos of Ukrainian objects he planned to send to the FSB.
SBU investigators have charged him under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed in a state of war).
The perpetrator is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
Comprehensive measures were carried out jointly with SBU employees in the Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
