On September 13, 2025, around 1:00 PM, a traffic accident took place at the intersection of Kharkiv Highway and Bratslavska Street.
According to initial reports, a female driver of a Volkswagen, driving in the first lane, ignored a red traffic light and hit a 23-year-old female soldier who was crossing the road on a green light within the pedestrian crossing.
After the incident, the 44-year-old driver left the scene; however, she was soon located and arrested by law enforcement under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The driver claimed that her husband was behind the wheel and had fled the accident scene. However, the police disproved this information and established that the driver was under the influence of alcohol - 3.11 promille.
The victim sustained multiple injuries and was hospitalized.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for violating traffic safety rules or operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
