Investigators have charged an individual with suspicion of a crime. According to the law, he faces up to eight years in prison.
Recently, a local resident reported to the police that her 44-year-old husband had left home in a car and was unreachable.
During the investigation, operatives, together with criminal analytics, used surveillance cameras to trace the route of the missing person and found his vehicle on one of the streets in the Obolon district.
It was later determined that the missing man met with an acquaintance to whom he owed a significant sum and entered his apartment. A conflict arose between them over the unpaid debt.
During the argument, the apartment owner grabbed a knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds to the man's chest and abdomen. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition, while the suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The investigator charged the 48-year-old Kyiv resident with suspicion under part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code – intentional severe bodily harm. The court has ordered him to be held in custody without the possibility of bail. The penalty under this article provides for a punishment of up to 8 years in prison.
