Prosecutors of the Darnytsia District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv have charged a 32-year-old city resident with robbery under wartime conditions (Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It has been established that the 32-year-old resident of Kyiv met a former soldier who was injured during combat and now uses a wheelchair. Upon seeing his new acquaintance counting money from his wallet, the suspect snatched it and attempted to flee, believing that the victim could not chase him down. However, the robber was quickly apprehended.
The law imposes a penalty of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
It is noteworthy that the suspect has previously faced criminal charges, including robbery and fraud, and committed this robbery while having an unserved sentence.
The court granted the prosecutor's request for the strictest preventive measure – detention.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigators of the Darnytsia Police Department of the National Police in Kyiv.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
