A suspect has been arrested in the case of the murder of Andriy Parubiy.
This was confirmed by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The Halych District Court in Lviv granted the request of prosecutors from the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. The suspect in the murder of Ukrainian MP Andriy Parubiy has been remanded in custody for 60 days without the possibility of bail.
The actions of the 52-year-old resident of Lviv are classified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 1 of article 115 (intentional murder) and part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of weapons).
Recall that on August 30, the suspect fired eight shots at the MP in Lviv, resulting in the victim's death at the scene. The next day, he was detained in the Khmelnytsky region.
"When gunfire echoes in the streets, it is a signal for the entire state. We respond decisively to ensure that every crime against human life receives the most severe legal assessment," emphasized the head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office Mykola Meret.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
