The investigators from the Desnyansky police department have concluded the investigation regarding the perpetrators who injured a passerby and stole a watch and a backpack from him. The suspects face up to ten years in prison. The incident occurred last month in the Lisovyi massif of the capital, when a 35-year-old lawyer was attacked.

It was revealed that in the evening, the victim was walking home from the metro when two strangers approached him. They began to provoke a conflict, and during a verbal exchange, they knocked the lawyer to the ground, inflicting bodily injuries on him. The assailants then took the watch off his wrist and stole his backpack containing documents and valuables before fleeing the scene. As a result of investigative measures, the police apprehended the offenders – unemployed local residents aged 42 and 45. During searches, the stolen items were recovered from them.

The investigators have charged the detainees under part 4 of article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – robbery with violence committed by a group of individuals in a state of war. The pre-trial investigation is now complete, and the indictment has been sent to court. The suspects are in custody and face up to ten years of imprisonment.
