On August 23, around 4:00 PM, the police received a report about a 6-year-old girl found unconscious with a hand injury.  Preliminary investigations revealed that a 7-year-old boy, while playing with a neighbor girl, accidentally fired a gun belonging to his father. The girl succumbed to her injuries.  The boy's father was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators from the Boryspil District Police Department have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Additional charges are being considered against the boy's father for willful neglect of parental duties and improper storage of firearms (Articles 166, 264 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to determine all circumstances of the event.
