On August 22nd, the Kyiv police received reports of an explosion during the day. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that a training flashbang grenade had been thrown by a 45-year-old local resident.
The individual was intoxicated and was unable to explain his actions. Law enforcement detained the man under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated based on part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – hooliganism. This article carries a penalty of up to seven years imprisonment.
