The military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another individual in Chernihiv acting as an FSB agent. The suspect was preparing coordinates for a new series of airstrikes by Russia on northern Ukraine. During her arrest, the woman attempted to erase evidence by deleting messages with her handler and destroying her smartphone.
According to the case materials, the individual is a 39-year-old local resident who caught the attention of the occupiers through Telegram channels offering "easy earnings".
After being recruited, she was dispatched to the Kyiv region, where she aimed to identify and relay geolocations of airfields housing combat helicopters to the enemy. The investigation revealed that she received a "route sheet" from the FSB with approximate addresses of potential military targets, near which she was supposed to conduct reconnaissance. However, it contained no actual coordinates of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
After failing to identify defense objects based on her handler's coordinates, she returned to Chernihiv to adjust Russian airstrikes on local military enlistment offices. Following instructions from the Russian special service, she rented an apartment in a nine-story building near the military enlistment center. On the windowsill of her residence, she installed a phone camera with remote access for the FSB. This way, the Russians hoped to track when the location would have the highest concentration of conscripted individuals to strike them with missiles. SBU officers meticulously documented the agent's crimes and secured the locations of the Defense Forces in her area of operation. At the final stage of the special operation, the suspect was arrested in her hideout apartment.
Investigators from the Security Service have informed her of the suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed in a state of war). The suspect is held in custody without the right to bail, facing a life sentence with property confiscation. Comprehensive measures were conducted jointly with SBU staff in the Chernihiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
