The acting head of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, Serhiy Khodakivskyi, announced charges against a 49-year-old man for the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.

The investigation revealed that the man met the girl and invited her to his home, where he offered her alcohol. During their first meeting, he showed no romantic interest, pretending to be her friend. However, during their next encounter, the assault occurred.

The perpetrator has been apprehended and faces up to 12 years in prison.

During the court session to determine the preventive measure, Khodakivskyi requested that the suspect be held in custody without the option of bail, which the court granted.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office by investigators from the local police department.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
