Counterintelligence officers of the SBU have captured another Russian agent in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This individual was coordinating missile strikes on Pavlohrad and monitoring the movement of Ukrainian military trains.

According to the case materials, a local resident, a 30-year-old unemployed man, was recruited by the aggressor through Telegram channels offering "easy money".

After recruitment, he began to patrol the frontline city and its outskirts to identify and photograph the backup command posts of Ukrainian defenders, as well as the locations of air defense systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Furthermore, the perpetrator was supposed to assist the occupiers in detecting cargo trains of the Armed Forces, determining their numbers, armaments, and movement directions. To achieve this, he set up a phone camera across the railway track, disguised in a juice box. SBU officers caught the informant "in the act" as he concealed the spying device near the railway line. Security measures were also taken to protect the locations of Ukrainian troops.

SBU investigators have charged him under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, transfer, or location of the Armed Forces or other military formations established under Ukrainian law during martial law).

The perpetrator is currently in custody without the right to bail and faces up to 12 years in prison. The operation was conducted by SBU officers in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
