In the capital of Ukraine, law enforcement has caught a man attempting to fraudulently obtain $7000 by offering assistance in recalling a mobilized soldier from military service. The prosecutor's office has now charged him.

The 20-year-old Kyiv resident posed as a law enforcement officer, assuring the soldier's wife that he could influence the decision regarding her husband’s release from service and subsequent removal from military records.

During the receipt of a "down payment" of $5000, the man was detained. His actions are classified as extortion and receiving unlawful benefits, which has led to criminal proceedings against him.
